Chargers Claim GCAA Regular Season Title

The Georgia Highlands College Baseball team claimed its first ever GCAA regular season title, postign an 18-10 GCAA record to cap off a 39-13 overall record.  The Chargers set numerous program records along the way during their historic run including team batting average (.347), on base percentage (.446), slugging (.552), stolen bases (144), doubles (108), complete games (15), and fewest walks allowed (129).  The Chargers also ran off a program record 15 game winning streak in March and threw the first two no-hitters in program history (Johnny Dow vs Snead State 2/7/21 & Chase Townsend vs SUPSI 3/9/21).

Claiming the top spot in the regular season earned the Chargers a first round bye in the upcoming GCAA Conference Tournament.  GHC will host the winner of ABAC vs East Georgia State at Lakepoint on Sunday, May 9 at 6:30PM.  The winner of the GCAA Tournament will host the winner of the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association tournament on May 18-20 for the NJCAA Appalachian District Championship and a trip to the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction Colorado.
