Chargers Storm through Region and District to Punch Ticket to World Series

The Chargers, coming off a third regular season GCAA title in four year, stormed through the NJCAA Region 17/GCAA Tounrnament and the Appalachian District Championship to punch the program's first ever ticket to the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction Colorado.

In the Region 17 tournament the Chargers opened with a mercy rule victory over ABAC, defeating the Stallions 11-3.  Two victories over Gordon State 10-5 and 10-3 sealed the Region Championship.

The District Championship didn't start out quite as well for GHC as the Chargers lost the first of a three game series to Dyersburg State 3-2.  Facing elimination, the Chargers roared back to sweep a doubleheader over the Eagles, winning 13-4 and 10-1, to secure a spot in Grand Junction.
