Chargers Sweep Pellissippi, Take Two of Three From Pirates
The GHC Chargers moved to 20-7 on the season after winning four out of five games to close out non conference competition this week. The Chargers opened the week with a pair of hard fought victories over Tennessee opponent Pellissippi State on Tuesday. The Panthers carried a 4-1 lead into the fourth inning of game one, but the Chargers rallied for ten runs over the last three innings to secure an 11-6 win. In the second game, the Chargers homered five times and won in walk off fashion 13-11 after falling behind late.
GHC hosted the Chattahoochee Valley Pirates in a three game set on the weekend and fell to the Alabama power 11-5 on Friday after a pair of big innings erased an early lead. The Chargers responded in a big way on Saturday, scoring thirteen runs in the bottom of the first and routing the Pirates in back to back games by a combined score of 29-1. Jackson Scali, Sam Clower, Kaiden Krak, and Matthew Perkins each collected wins on the mound for GHC.
The Chargers are back in action on Tuesday at home against South Georgia State College.
