Georgia Highlands College men’s basketball fell to South Georgia State 82-67 Saturday in Waycross. South Georgia sits atop the GCAA standings and is ranked #23 in the NJCAA. GHC falls to 4-2 in the conference and 12-6 overall.
The Hawks defense stifled the Chargers, allowing only 36% shooting from the field. Marquin Thompson was the only Charger to score in double digits, and Jay’Quan Nelson, who had been red-hot, was held to only 7 points. The Chargers only shot 7 of 22 from beyond the arch as well.
GHC returns to action Wednesday night in Griffin as they try to start another winning streak en route to defend their conference title.
